1. Depths in the vicinity of pipelines may be 2m less than charted as not all pipelines are buried.  When anchoring or trawling in the vicinity of a pipeline mariners should bear in mind the danger of pipeline damage which may cause fire or loss of a vessel's buoyancy. In any case of pipeline  damage mariners risk prosecution.
2. Platforms  and storage tankers may exhibit wMo(U) lights, obstruction lights and sound signaling appliances. Wells may be marked. It is prohibited to approach oil platforms and wells within less than 500m and prevent from unrestricted manoeuvring of tankers.
3.Traffic separation schemes (TSSs) and recommended routes along coast of Norway are established for:
     - tankers, gascarriers and chemical carriers;
     - vessels with nuclear-power plants and radiation sources;
     - all transport vessels of 5000 GRT and over on international voyages;
     - vessels on international voyages to or from ports along the coast of Norway;
     - vessels calling at ports for maintenance and ship stores replenishment.
