SOUNDINGS IN METRES
Reduced to Volkerak datum (=NAP)

HEIGHTS IN METRES
Above Volkerak datum

(The waterlevel can vary between NAP-1dm and NAP+1,5 dm)

The beacons mark at least the 1,5 metre depth contour (April-October).
More beacons can be met than charted.

Outside the connecting lines between the lighted fairway beacons
regels (fishing stakes and traps) can be met 50 to 100 metres apart.

SPEED RESTRICTIONS
In these waters restrictions for sailing with fast
motorboats and waterskiing are in force.

CABLES AND PIPELINES
It is prohibited to anchor and trawl in the vicinity of
submarine cables and pipelines. Pipelines are not always buried
and their presence may significantly reduce the charted depth.
They may also span seabed undulations and cause fishing gear to
become irrecoverably snagged, putting a vessel in severe danger.

CHANGING FAIRWAYS
Due to strong currents the fairways are changing continuously.
Actual depth may differ from the charted soundings. The buoyage
is adjusted accordingly.

TIDAL STREAMS
Attention is drawn to the strong tidal streams in these waters.
For tidal streams and tidal information see: HP 33 Tidal heights
and streams for coastal waters of the Netherlands and adjacent waters
and HP 33D-NLTides published by the Netherlands Hydrographer.
