Traffic Prohibited Area for Oil Tankers
No vessel carrying any of the following substances shall enter or pass through a sea area where the passage of oil tankers is prohibited except when entering or departing from a port or harbor, or in emergency situations. (Article 11 of the Sea Traffic Safety Act)
1. At least 1,500 kilolitres of crude oil, heavy oil or light oil
2. At least 1,500 kilolitres of hydrocarbon oil similar to those in subparagraph 1 defined in Article 2 of the Petroleum and Alternative Fuel Business Act, a 
fake petroleum product defined in the same Article, or any kind of oil specified by Ordinance of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries from among 
petroleum substitute fuels defined in the same Article 
3. At least 1,500 tons of a hazardous liquid substance defined in Article 2 of the Marine Environment Management Act
