DREDGED DEPTHS

Depths in this area are reduced to approximately the
level of Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT), which is
approximately 0.3 metres below the Mean Low Water (MLW)
datum used by the local authorities for surveying and
dredging purposes. MLW is the lowest level of normal
tides. To obtain dredged depths referenced to MLW, 0.3
metres should be added to the depth values shown.
Accordingly, the dredged depths referred to MLW in the
East Channel and Ship Channel are 18 metres and 14
metres respectively. Consult local authorities for the
latest information on depths in basins and channels.
