DEPTHS AND AIDS TO NAVIGATION
Depths are subject to frequent change. Actual depths may differ
from the charted soundings and depth contours. The buoyage and aids to navigation will
be adjusted accordingly as well as possible.

DREDGED DEPTHS
The depths shown for the dredged areas are generally maintained but are
frequently liable to siltation and shallow depths can occur. Therefore it is advised
to contact the port authorities about this.

VESSEL REPORTING
For details of the Westerschelde Vessel Traffic Services Scheldemond (VTS SM)
including Traffic Area Gent-Terneuzen, see the Netherlands Coast Pilot (HP1)
or ADMIRALTY List of Radio Signals.

WESTERSCHELDE SHIPPING REGULATIONS (WSR)
In the Westerschelde and approaches, traffic regulations ''The Westerschelde
Shipping Regulations 1990'' are in force. For details see the Netherlands Coast
Pilot (HP1) or ADMIRALTY Sailing Directions.

SUBMARINE CABLES AND PIPELINES
Mariners are advised not to anchor or trawl in the vicinity of submarine cables
and pipelines. Pipelines are not always buried and their presence may
significantly reduce the charted depth. They may also span seabed undulations
and cause fishing gear to become irrecoverably snagged, putting a vessel in
severe danger.

''FIETSPAD'' SMALL CRAFT CHANNEL
Small crafts are urgently requested to use the channel parallel to the main
fairway, named ''Fietspad'' and marked with yellow buoys. Ask the local VTS for
the least sounded depth.
