SOUNDINGS IN METRES

Depths reduced to IJsselmeer Winter Datum (=NAP -4dm)
(Summer Datum (Apr-Oct) varies between NAP -1dm and NAP -3dm)

HEIGHTS IN METRES
Above NAP

NOTES
- The beacons in the IJsselmeer mark at least the 1,8 metre depth contour (summer datum) and are present from April-October.
More beacons can be met than charted.
- Due to the wind-effect actual depth may differ from charted soundings locally.
A regular check of the water level from water level gauges is recommended.
- Winter buoyage. From December - March buoyage may be replaced by Winter-buoyage. In severe Winters buoyage is withdrawn.
Buoyage will be replaced in order of importance. In Spring it is possible that not all channels are already buoyed as charted.
- In these waters restrictions for sailing with fast motorboats and waterskiing are in force.
- In these waters supplementary marks for pleasure craft and special marks for areas meant
for waterskiing, kite surfing, jet-skiing and fast motorboats and areas under the Nature
Conservation Act are on station from April - October.

CENTRAL REPORTING POINT IJSSELMEER AREA: VHF 1 (IJSSELMEER, MARKERMEER, KETELMEER)
For all reports and information. Telephone: 088-797 3300
(Safety and distress calls: VHF 16)

CAUTION
- Besides in the charted fishing-areas fishing stakes and traps can be met everywhere else along the dykes and on the shoals

CABLES AND PIPELINES
Mariners are advised not to anchor or trawl in the vicinity of
cables and pipelines. Pipelines are not always buried and their presence may
effectively reduce the charted depth by up to 2 metres. They may
also span seabed undulations and cause fishing gear to become
irrecoverably snagged, putting a vessel in severe danger. See the
Netherlands Coast Pilot (HP 1).
