CURRENTS
The surface circulation of the Adriatic Sea can be described as a cyclonic meander with north-west-going current along the eastern shore and south-east-going current along the western shore. General current system is modulated seasonally. Higher-frequency current variability may be of high intensity due to the wind force, and it is weakly influenced by the tidal currents. Typical current speeds are below 0.5 knot. For further information see Croatian Sailing Directions (Peljar I).

LOCAL MAGNETIC ANOMALIES
Local magnetic anomalies are reported to exist in the area to the west of the island of Vis (See Peljar I).
