All vessels intending to navigate through Rio - Antirrio Strait must
send a position report as follows:
    (a) East-bound vessels: To PATRA TRAFFIC (VHF channels 13 or 14)
in a distance of 12 n miles and 5 n miles from the bridge and
to RIO TRAFFIC (VHF channels 14 or 13) in a distance of 2 n miles
from the bridge in order to receive instructions and permission
         for the passage.
    (b) West-bound vessels: To RIO TRAFFIC (VHF channels 14 or 134) in a
distance of 12 n miles, 5 n miles and 2 n miles from the bridge in
order to receive instructions and permission for the passage.

All vessels at their transit from the bridge should use the central
passage (between the pylons M2-M3) with safe navigable width 300m
    and vertical clearance 45m.

Transit of side passages (North between the pylons M3-M4 and South
between the pylons M1-M2) is restricted and permission from
ANTIRRIO VTS is required if vessel's LOA does not exceed 40m and
the biggest height from water-line (Air Draft) does not exceed 15m.

The transit time is as described:
    (a) from precisely up to half each hour for the East-bound vessels
        (heading from Patraikos to Korinthiakos).
    (b) from half up to precisely each hour for the West-bound vessels
        (heading from Korinthiakos to Patraikos).
The simultaneous passage of vessels with reciprocal courses is
    prohibited.

The maximum speed of all vessels on both sides and in a
distance up to 2 n miles from the bridge, must not exceed 10 knots.

In cases of provisional prohibition of the bridge transit
for any cause, vessels anchorage is allowed only in
    determined areas (38 19 '.26 "B - 021 41 '.26" A) and
    (38 21 '.30 "B - 021 48 '.06" A).
Outside the above areas anchorage is prohibited.

Moreover, swimming, all kinds of submarine activity, as well as
the movement of small recreation crafts under the bridge
is prohibited, in a distance up to one mile on both sides.
