DEPTHS AND BUOYAGE
The channels and depths shown on this chart are subject to frequent
change; the buoyage is adjusted accordingly. For the latest
information mariners are advised to consult Brandaris Vessel Traffic
Centre, VHF 2.

TIDAL STREAMS
Attention is drawn to the strong tidal streams in
these waters. For tidal streams and tidal information
see HP 33 Tidal heights and streams for coastal
waters of the Netherlands and adjacent waters and
HP 33D-NLTides published by the Netherlands Hydrographer.

WINTER-BUOYAGE
From ± December-March buoyage may be replaced by winter-buoyage.
In severe winters buoyage is withdrawn. Buoyage will be replaced
in order of importance. In spring it is possible that not all channels
are already buoyed as charted.

SUPPLEMENTARY MARKS
In these waters supplementary marks for pleasure craft and special marks
for areas meant for waterskiing, kite surfing, jet-skiing and fast motorboats
and areas under the Nature Conservation Act are on station from ± April-October.

CABLES AND PIPELINES
Mariners are advised not to anchor or trawl in the vicinity of cables and
pipelines. Pipelines are not always buried and their presence may effectively
reduce the charted depth by up to 2 metres. They may also span seabed undulations
and cause fishing gear to become irrecoverably snagged, putting a vessel in
severe danger. Outside the fairways the cables and pipelines are marked by steel
pipes with an elevation of 4 dm above the sea floor. See the Netherlands Coast
Pilot (HP 1) for more information.

POLLENDAM FAIRWAY
Pleasure craft are urgently requested to use the channel parallel to the
'Vaargeul langs Pollendam'. The yellow floating beacons mark at least the 1.8m
depth contour. If you can not use the recommended recreation track along the
yellow buoys of the Pollendam, it is essential to keep 30 metres clear of the dam.
Mind the cross current which occurs when the dam is flooded; depending on the
current direction it may set you towards the dam.

BLAUWE SLENK AND VLIESTROOM RECOMMENDED TRACKS
The recommended track for pleasure craft along the Blauwe Slenk and Vliestroom is
marked with yellow buoys. Ask Meldpost Waddenzee (VHF 4) for information on the
least sounded depth.

VEERBOOTROUTE AMELAND
The fairway of the Veerbootroute Ameland between buoy VA 11 and the Holwerd ferry
jetty is liable to frequent changes. Buoyage is adjusted frequently. Mariners are
advised to navigate with caution and follow the marked fairway.
