Chart 4184   APPROACHES TO CASUARINA BAY

Casurina Bay is entered E of a point  mile E of Teesta Point and another point 2.1 miles ESE of TeestaPoint; during the NE monsoon there is good Anchorage for the W entrance point, local knowledge is necessary.

A bight lies between the village of Kopenheat(659'.83N, 93 43'.89E), 5 miles SE of Teesta Point and a protrusion 2.18 miles SE of Kopenheat. There is a shallow patch with least depth of 1.4m. The patch is of 6 cables length and 4 cables wide and lies in the centre of the bight.

Anchorage may be obtained at the entrance to this bight in a depth of 27m about 1 mile offshore, but local knowledge is necessary and also great care in approaching this anchorage and that off Casuarina Bay, as many shoals have been reported to lie 3 to 5 miles offshore in this area. An anchorage lies 2.12 miles W of Kopenheat at depth of 20m.
