Saint George Channel, lying between Little Nicobar and Great Nicobar Islands has a least width of 3.95 miles between CapeEdinburgh (714'.55N, 93 38'.4E) and the NW end of GreatNicobarIsland.

There are considerable, but irregular depths in Saint Georges Channel. The N side appears free from off-lying dangers 

The S side of the channel  is fringed with reef along the N coast of Great Nicobar and some patches lie up to 1 miles offshore. 
Tidal streams set strongly and fairly through the channel; reaching NE with the rising tide and SW with the falling tide.

KondulIsland(713'N, 93 42'.3E), 8 miles WSW of Murray Point, is lofty and rocky in its N part rising sheer to a height of 92m. The island is covered in dense jungle, but there are two safe landing places on the E side of the Island. 
Caution is necessary in approaching KondulIsland and the coast nearby as unknown dangers may exist. Foul ground, with rocks above water, extends in patches from the island for distances of 2 to 3 cables.

Anchorage may be obtained in a depth of 23m 7 cables NE of the S most point off the E side of Kondul Island, or off the W side in depths of about 20m according to the direction of the wind. However caution should be exercised while anchoring W of the island as the depths are irregular with shoal patches.

Pryce Channel, lies between the S side of the KondulIsland and the coast of Great Nicobar, sheltered Anchorage, well clear of mangrove swamps, in depths of about 26m is possible, the bottom is sand and coral. Care is necessary to avoid a 4.6m and 8.6m shoal patches 6 cables S of Kondul Island.

Between Murray Point and Indira Point, 29 miles S, the E coast of Great Nicobar is hilly, wooded to the waters edge and much indented.

Trinkat Champlong Bay, lying between a point 1 mile SE of Murray Point and Kerr Point (713'N, 93 51'.45E), about 2 miles farther SE, affords good and safe anchorage for large vessels and is completely sheltered from wind and swell during the SW monsoon. It is free from flies and mosquitoes.

The NW shore of the bay is rocky and steep, with occasional coral heads extending about 1 cable from the coast. The S shore consists mainly of sandy beach; a conspicuous rock lies 3.8 cables W and another 7.8 cables WSW of Kerr Point. A drying reef fringes the shore W of Kerr Point and a drying coral reef lies 1 cables offshore between the conspicuous rocks.

Elsewhere the bay is free from dangers with depths of about 11m about 2 cables offshore; inside the 5.5m line the coast should be approached with care
